Some of the latest high-performance turbo engine makers might suggest that you use synthetic oil in their “Owner’s Manual.” What if you don’t? Will this ruin your car's engine?
Is synthetic oil totally different than conventional oil? Not really. Both oils consist of the same basic ingredients. An estimated 90% of synthetic oil is a blend of conventional oil and additives to improve performance. One of the goals of synthetic oil manufacturers is to minimize sludge. Your synthetic oil flow rate will be higher.
Due to its high-performance, sports cars will exact more intense pressure on your engine. Manufacturers want you to use synthetic oils to deliver the best “punch.” If you can’t find synthetic oil, then conventional oil might be OK. Perhaps, you could combine some of the old synthetic oil with the conventional oil, if you are desperate. Even synthetic oils differ from one another.
